Softball Game Preview: Cajun Christian Athletics Gators vs. Word of God Academy Force

The Cajun Christian Athletics Gators will head out on the road to square off against the Word of God Academy Force at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cajun Christian Athletics is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.

Cajun Christian Athletics is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Psalms Christian Academy last Thursday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ambassadors.

Cajun Christian Athletics got a good showing from Jayden Hart, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Cajun Christian Athletics saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Piper Hill, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Word of God Academy's offense. They lost 10-0 to Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Force's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Word of God Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Cajun Christian Athletics, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Cajun Christian Athletics has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Word of God Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.7 hits.
