It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Perryville Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 38-0 win over Bohemia Manor. The victory was nothing new for Perryville as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Ethen Gunter was his usual excellent self, rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Ty Patchell was another key contributor, throwing for 164 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes.
Perryville pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Rising Sun and 2-9 Aberdeen (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32% over those games). As for Bohemia Manor, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Perryville will take on Cambridge-South Dorchester at TBD on Friday. Cambridge-South Dorchester is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Bohemia Manor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
