The Roxborough Wolves won the last time they faced Bodine, and things went their way on Friday too. Roxborough snuck past Bodine with a 58-54 victory. Given Roxborough's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Bodine is ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stefan Phillips was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Michael Strachan, who scored six points.
Bodine lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Shaahid Jones, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Alex Delisca was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Roxborough has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Bodine, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Roxborough won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Girard College at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. Girard College will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Roxborough surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bodine, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Penn Treaty at 3:15 a.m. Penn Treaty has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 206 points over their last three contests.
