Beatty extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 11-8. They lost 20-5 to the Tonopah Muckers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Muckers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 on Friday.
Anthoni Aguilar made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Isaac Contreras was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
As for Tonopah, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-11. Considering they have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On Tonopah's side, Alex Avelar was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Avelar has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Tonopah: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-11 otherwise.
In other batting news, Remington Cobb was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Tonopah is undefeated when Cobb posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Adelaido Salgado, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Coming up, Beatty will challenge Laughlin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tonopah, they will take on Indian Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
