After a string of seven wins, the Round Mountain Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 82-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring Mountain. Round Mountain has not had much luck with Spring Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Bullington, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. It was the first time this season that Bullington pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keiran Swafford, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Round Mountain's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4. As for Spring Mountain, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Round Mountain will take on Tonopah at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Mountain will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Indian Springs at 5:20 p.m. on February 16th. Spring Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Indian Springs likes a good challenge.
