Tocoi Creek is a perfect 3-0 against Palatka since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Toros will take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Tocoi Creek 3.7, Palatka 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, Tocoi Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Fernandina Beach, taking the game 5-2.

Tommy Glasspoole made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Glasspoole was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Glasspoole wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Sizemore, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Palatka entered their tilt with Williston on Wednesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 8-5. Eight seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Palatka pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Tocoi Creek, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-7.

Everything went Tocoi Creek's way against Palatka in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Tocoi Creek made off with a 14-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Toros since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
