The Killian Cougars will square off against the North Broward Prep Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Killian barely beat JC Bermudez Doral the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars blew past the Thunder 13-4 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.
Zach Fernandez tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Killian got a massive performance out of Jonathan Acosta, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave Acosta a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahdon Heron, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Killian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, North Broward Prep waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Titans.
Kiernan O'Neill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, North Broward Prep got a great performance from Jack Rostock as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Rostock has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
O'Neill wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Mestre, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
North Broward Prep pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Killian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
