They escaped with a win against Gulf Pointe Latin by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49. The win was a breath of fresh air for South Baldwin Christian Academy as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Gulf Pointe Latin still got an impressive performance from Micah Crumpler, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crumpler has scored all season. Kyler Aikins was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
South Baldwin Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Baldwin Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Atmore Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, Gulf Pointe Latin and Lighthouse Private Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
