Beech's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macey Blazek, who scored four points along with six rebounds. Genesis Harris was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Oakland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Beech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakland will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Rockvale at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Rockvale is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Beech, they will head out on the road to face off against Pearl-Cohn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Pearl-Cohn is ranked 79th, while Beech is ranked 61st).
