Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask East Ascension). Everything went their way against the St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers on Saturday as East Ascension made off with  a  19-6 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played  back in March of 2024.
 Mckenzie Creel made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with one  home run and five  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Cayden Tullier, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with one  home run, four  runs,  and four  RBI.  Mya Lanoux was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 East Ascension  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph's Academy only posted  an  OBP of  .286.
East Ascension has  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.3 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for St. Joseph's Academy and  nudges their season record down to 5-10.
 Looking ahead, East Ascension will be playing in front of their home fans against Parkview Baptist  at 4:35  p.m.  on Monday. As for St. Joseph's Academy, they will challenge Scotlandville at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
