The Triplains/Brewster Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Weskan, falling 83-41. Triplains/Brewster has not had much luck with Weskan recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Triplains/Brewster lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Schmidt, who scored 12 points along with four steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Schmidt posted two or more blocks. Nick Zerr was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Weskan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trey Allen out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Allen is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Crow, who scored 23 points along with two steals.
Triplains/Brewster's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Weskan, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triplains/Brewster will face off against Heartland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weskan, they will head out on the road to take on Wheatland-Grinnell at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheatland-Grinnell is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
