The third road game was the charm for the Basic Wolves, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Franklin by a score of 47-36 on Saturday. Basic's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Basic was led to victory by Saiah Minnis and Ja'Mari Cottingham. Minnis scored seven points along with eight rebounds, while Cottingham scored 16 points. Minnis also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Christian Baltierrez, who scored six points.
The win got Basic back to even at 5-5. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Basic and Sunny Hills will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. Hopefully Sunny Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. Franklin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ballard at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Ballard has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 243 points over their last four matchups.
