The Cahokia Comanches's 14-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Saturday. They managed a 63-57 win over Payton College Prep. With that win, Cahokia brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Among those leading the charge was Cornelius Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Donald Collier, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Cahokia's win bumped their record up to 1-12. As for Payton College Prep, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Cahokia's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ferguson at 6:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Ferguson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Cahokia likes a good challenge. Payton College Prep and Saint Ignatius College Prep will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
