The Cardinal O'Hara Lions will face off against the Franklin Towne Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal O'Hara will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Cardinal O'Hara lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Conwell-Egan Catholic, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 7-0 shutout on Friday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Hayden Sissons, who gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Conwell-Egan Catholic off the board. Sissons has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ava Dill was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Hayden Reale was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Franklin Towne can now relate to. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 13-12 on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that the Warriors let down their fans at home.
Ann Bernard and Abigail Pelczar did some serious damage despite the final result: Bernard went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Pelczar went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rebecca Layton, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Cardinal O'Hara pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin Towne, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cardinal O'Hara hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Franklin Towne struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cardinal O'Hara came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin Towne in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
