The Kimball Longhorns's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They took down Potter-Dix 40-24. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 22 to ten on the offensive boards, as Kimball did.
Kimball's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grace Anderson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Addy Olson, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Potter-Dix lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madison Williamson. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with ten rebounds and six blocks. That's the first time this season that Williamson pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Kimball's win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Potter-Dix, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kimball will take on Bridgeport at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Potter-Dix, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leyton on Friday. Leyton is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
