The Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Weaver by a score of 42-33. For Academy of Science and Innovation, this counts as revenge for the 31-22 defeat Weaver walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Academy of Science and Innovation got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maiara Rodriguez out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. Rodriguez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Symber Ortiz-Sutton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Academy of Science and Innovation's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Weaver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy of Science and Innovation won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gilbert at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Gilbert is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Weaver, they will be playing at home against Achievement First at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Achievement First has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
