Nogales has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Tucson High Magnet School Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nogales comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Nogales fell victim to Flowing Wells' stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Caballeros, falling 42-0.
Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School entered their tilt with Mountain View with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Tucson High Magnet School came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 36-26 on Friday.
Among those leading the charge was Noah Chanez, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Prince Mugisha also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.
Nogales' defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.3 points per game. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Nogales lost to Tucson High Magnet School on the road by a decisive 23-7 margin when the teams last played back in September of 2014. Can Nogales avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
