Basketball Recap: Millbrook's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Millbrook won the last time they faced Rolesville, and Ashton King did his part to make sure it happened again. The Millbrook Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-61 victory over the Rolesville Rams on Friday thanks in part to King, who went 10 for 16 on his way to 36 points and eight rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Despite the loss, Rolesville still got an impressive performance from Caiden Jenkins, who went 9 of 15 en route to 28 points and seven boards. Jenkins is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Clemons, who posted 12 points and four steals.

The win was the third in a row for Millbrook, bringing their record for this year to 7-9. As for Rolesville, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Millbrook will take on Wakefield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Millbrook knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Wakefield likes a good challenge. As for Rolesville, they will face off against Grace Christian at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Grace Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Rolesville surely won't give up without a fight.
