Miyamura is 8-2 against Kirtland Central since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Broncos at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Miyamura turned things around against Shiprock on Tuesday. They blew past the Chieftains 12-1. Considering the Patriots have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Phillicity Nez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Celeste Cano and Alexandria Begay did most of the damage at the plate: Cano scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Begay scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those four runs gave Cano a new career-high.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kirtland Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on Bloomfield with a sharp 16-10 victory on Tuesday.
Kirtland Central let Easton Myhers and Rory Benally run wild. Myhers went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Benally scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Paisley Mcgilbert, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Kirtland Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .690. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .531 that Bloomfield posted.
Kirtland Central's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Miyamura, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-8.
