Basketball Recap: Alexandria Now 12-3 over Last 15 Games

A well-balanced attack led Alexandria over St. Louis Catholic in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Alexandria Trojans strolled past the St. Louis Catholic Saints with points to spare, taking the game 55-38. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Saints are ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alexandria to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyshawn Duncan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Duncan a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Johnson, who posted 20 points and five rebounds.

Alexandria smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Alexandria is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for St. Louis Catholic, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-9.

Alexandria didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-54 win against Lake Charles College Prep on the 11th. As for St. Louis Catholic, they will challenge Leesville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
