Softball Recap: Corydon Central Has No Trouble Against North Harrison

Corydon Central extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 4-3 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the North Harrison Cougars. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Ava Gerdon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addyson Leonard was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Paisley Teeter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

As for North Harrison, they now have a losing record of 3-4. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Corydon Central: they've now lost seven in a row.

On North Harrison's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby White, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was White's first of the season.

Coming up, Corydon Central will square off against Madison at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cubs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for North Harrison, they will challenge Orleans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
