Falcon has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Elizabeth Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Falcon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 415 points over their last six matches.
Even though Sand Creek scored an imposing 66 points on Tuesday, Falcon still came out on top. Falcon walked away with a 77-66 win over Sand Creek. That's two games straight that Falcon has won by exactly 11 points.
Falcon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeramiah Potts led the charge by scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Cox, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 79-62 bruising from Sierra. While losing is never fun, Elizabeth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Sierra is ranked 87th).
Falcon pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Elizabeth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Falcon took their victory against Elizabeth when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 68-48. Does Falcon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elizabeth turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
