Baseball Game Preview: Waynesburg Central Raiders vs. Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles

For the second straight game, Waynesburg Central will face off against Keystone Oaks. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Golden Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waynesburg Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

Waynesburg Central's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over Keystone Oaks. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Raiders have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Tyler Groves made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Jake Stephenson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Waynesburg Central's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Keystone Oaks, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.
