After flying high against the Polytechnic Parrots last Tuesday, the Wyatt Chaparrals came back down to earth. Wyatt was dealt a 61-34 defeat at the hands of Everman on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Wyatt has suffered against Everman since December 29, 2016.
Despite the loss, Wyatt had strong showings from Zyniesha Horner, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds, and Cynaa Weathers, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Horner is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played.
Wyatt's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10. As for Everman, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyatt will take on Trimble Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Trimble Tech is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Everman, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Southwest at 7:30 p.m. Southwest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1223rd, while Everman is ranked 609th).
