The Florence Christian Eagles were the 30-24 winner over the Carolina Academy Bobcats when they last played one another on January 12th, but their luck changed this time around. Florence Christian took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats on Tuesday. Florence Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Florence Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emerson Poston, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. Poston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Broach, who scored four points along with four steals.
Florence Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Carolina Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Florence Christian will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in King's Academy's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Eagles have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Carolina Academy will take on the Stallions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Williamsburg Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
