After three games on the road, Marvin Ridge is heading back home. They will take on the Weddington Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Even though Marvin Ridge has not done well against Sun Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Marvin Ridge took down Sun Valley 71-55. The victory was just what Marvin Ridge needed coming off of a 68-43 defeat in their prior matchup.
Marvin Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cinjun Bridges, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Clark, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Weddington scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Sun Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 89-49 win at home. The victory was familiar territory for Weddington who now have five in a row.
Marvin Ridge's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Weddington, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Marvin Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Weddington when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 48-45. Does Marvin Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weddington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
