Willits' batters probably weren't too happy with Gracie Sheppard, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Sheppard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Arden Vines was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.
Meanwhile, Miramonte was able to grind out a solid win over Oakland on Tuesday, taking the game 7-4.
Abby Warren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gianna Granzella, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Haynes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
Biggs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Miramonte, their win bumped their record up to 19-8.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Biggs has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .522. However, it's not like Miramonte struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
