Summit Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they must head out on the road. They will go up against Lathrop in continuing playoff action on Saturday. Averaging 42.67 points per game, the Summit Christian Academy squad has been an offensive juggernaut in the playoffs, so hopefully Lathrop's defense is prepared for a test.
It was all tied up 14-14 at the half for Summit Christian Academy and Lafayette County last Friday, but Summit Christian Academy stepped up in the second half. The Eagles took their matchup against Lafayette County by a conclusive 35-14 score. Among those leading the charge for Summit Christian Academy was Grayson Sprouse, who passed for 279 yards and two TDs. This makes it 12 games in a row in which Sprouse has produced a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Lathrop earned some more postseason success in their contest last week. It was a tight matchup that could have gone either way, but the Mules made off with a 29-28 victory over Maryville.
The Eagles found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 41-14 punch to the gut against the Mules when the two teams last met in last November. The loss knocked the Eagles out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at the Mules with a vengeful fire.
