After a string of three wins, the Heritage Academy Heroes's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 56-40 bruising from Learning Foundation & Performing Arts. Heritage Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Learning Foundation & Performing Arts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Heritage Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryce Campbell, who scored 17 points. Campbell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Mattson Young was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Leading Learning Foundation & Performing Arts to victory were Jabari Lee and Thaddeus Hawkins. Lee scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Hawkins shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hawkins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hamm, who scored four points along with three steals.
Heritage Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Learning Foundation & Performing Arts, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3.
Heritage Academy will square off against Learning Foundation & Performing Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Learning Foundation & Performing Arts focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday. As for they, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m.
