It was a good run, but the Hunt Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 54-35 fall against Fike. While losing is never fun, Hunt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Fike is ranked 103rd).
Hunt's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiyana Harrison, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, and Tanyha Anthony who scored five points.
Fike got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jewel Brewington out in front who scored 14 points along with five assists. Emory Skinner was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Hunt's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Fike, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3.
Hunt will take on C.B. Aycock at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully C.B. Aycock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Fike, they will head out on the road to challenge West Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
