On Thursday, Elizabeth made easy work of Eastside and carried off a 27-6 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Elizabeth just coasted through the last quarter.
Jamad Lyles was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Arique Flemming was another key contributor, throwing for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Elizabeth's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Eastside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Elizabeth will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Hackensack at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Hackensack is ranked 154th, while Elizabeth is ranked 141st). Eastside will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Kennedy on November 23rd. Kennedy is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
