Western Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Great Crossing is ranked first).
Western Hills suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 last Saturday. They were beaten by Madison Central 75-43.
Meanwhile, Great Crossing waltzed into their matchup on Sunday with four straight wins but they left with five. They snuck past Princeton with a 79-74 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Great Crossing's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malachi Moreno, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Godfrey, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Western Hills has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Great Crossing, their victory bumped their record up to 17-1.
Western Hills was dealt a bruising 84-39 loss at the hands of Great Crossing when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Great Crossing's Vince Dawson, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and six assists.
