The Columbus Explorers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They really took it to Coral Gables for the full four quarters, racking up a 89-47 win on the road. Winning may never get old, but Columbus sure is getting used to it with their 15th in a row.
Cameron Boozer was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jase Richardson, who scored 16 points.
When it comes to explaining why Coral Gables lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Gabriel Chang. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Chang has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cristian Andres Paredes, who scored 13 points.
Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Coral Gables, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Columbus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 84-61 victory vs. Miami on the 10th. Coral Gables does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
