The Brookfield Bobcats were the  100-77 winner over the Pomperaug Panthers when they last played one another  back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Brookfield fell to Pomperaug  62-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
 When it comes to explaining why Brookfield lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is  Shane Weber. Despite the final result, he  scored 25 points along with five  assists and five  rebounds. That was a full 44.6% of Brookfield's points, marking the 18th time in a row he's  earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Danny Ciriello, who  scored 13 points along with three  steals and three  blocks.
 Brookfield dropped their record down to 11-7 with that  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road. As for Pomperaug, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record  this season.
 Brookfield will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against Joel Barlow at 7:00  p.m. Joel Barlow has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Pomperaug, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game, a  52-50  victory vs. Northwestern Regional on the 10th.
