It was a good run, but the Trinity Christian Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 73-60 defeat to Columbia Christian. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Columbia Christian is ranked 156th).
Columbia Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Burley, who scored 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Burley has scored at least 25% of Columbia Christian's points. Cooper Goodwin was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Columbia Christian, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.
Trinity Christian will be playing at home against Harts Bluff at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkers Chapel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
