Madison suffered their biggest loss since December 6, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 58-36 loss at the hands of Churchill. Madison has struggled against Churchill recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Madison's defeat came about despite a quality game from Nadia Bailey, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 47.2% of Madison's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Yazmin Torrez, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, SA Roosevelt's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 13th straight loss. They were beaten by Lee 62-33. While losing is never fun, SA Roosevelt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 967th, while Lee is ranked 210th).
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Maddison Castillo and Rosanelly Pastrano. Pastrano had a solid game and scored ten points along with three steals. Meanwhile, Castillo did her best for the losing side, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Madison has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season. As for SA Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 5-21.
