The Walsh Jesuit Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Austintown-Fitch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Walsh Jesuit had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past Padua Franciscan with points to spare, taking the game 71-53.
Kara Courtad was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Angielski, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Austintown-Fitch had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They snuck past Hathaway Brown with a 36-32 win. That's two games straight that Austintown-Fitch has won by exactly four points.
Among those leading the charge was Ayla Ray, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Destanie Mccullough was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 5 steals.
Walsh Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Austintown-Fitch, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 3-1 record.
