Softball Recap: Grand Blanc Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Grand Blanc's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Heritage Hawks as they made off with an 11-0 win. Considering the Bobcats have won 12 matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kate Mitchell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Jacobson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Grand Blanc kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.

Grand Blanc pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.

Grand Blanc didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 victory against Allen Park on the 10th. As for Heritage, they have also already played their next match, a 19-0 win against Carman-Ainsworth on the 9th.
