Sparrows Point took a serious blow against Eastern Tech, falling 71-29. Sparrows Point was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.
Talan Brooks was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jericho Wondeye, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Sparrows Point bumped their record down to 1-2 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. As for Eastern Tech, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Sparrows Point will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eastern Tech at 5:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024. As for Eastern Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Carver A&T at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carver A&T comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
