The Pieper Warriors came tearing into Friday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Liberty Hill by a score of 33-23. Given Pieper's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Liberty Hill is ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brady Hopper went supernova for Pieper, rushing for 121 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Jake South, who threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns.
Although Liberty Hill took the loss, they still got scores from Garrett Lindgren, Jack Pitchford, and Ben Carter.
Even if they lost, Liberty Hill's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Pieper's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Jacob Morris and his two sacks.
Pieper pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.2 points per game. As for Liberty Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Pieper will face off against Sam Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sam Houston will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Liberty Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harlandale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
