Battle Mountain have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Summit at Homecoming Game at 7:00 PM. Battle Mountain have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Battle Mountain had enough points to win and then some against Woodland Park two weeks ago, taking their game 50-35. Senior Traver Goldberg, who rushed for 72 yards and 1 touchdown, was a major factor in Battle Mountain's success. Goldberg has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 5 games.
Meanwhile, Summit have to be aching after a bruising 6-31 defeat to Elizabeth. Summit's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the matchup before.
Battle Mountain's win lifted them to 4-1 while Summit's loss dropped them down to 1-4. We'll see if Battle Mountain's success rolls on or if Summit are able to steal their positive momentum.
