Baseball Recap: Cristo Rey Has No Trouble Against South

Cristo Rey came out on top against South on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive 16-run fourth inning. The Cougar were the clear victors by a 21-4 margin over the Bulldogs. The Cougar might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

Cristo Rey is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for South, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey will square off against Linden-McKinley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South, they will face off against Marion-Franklin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.9 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
