Mountain View has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Thompson Valley Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mountain View will be strutting in after a win while Thompson Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mountain View ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 67-58 win over Skyline. Mountain View's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mountain View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Garland led the charge by scoring 19 points. Garland hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Carsen Kissinger, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Thompson Valley pushed their score all the way to 66 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Frederick. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Thompson Valley in their matchups with Frederick: they've now lost five in a row.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Thompson Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Mountain View beat Thompson Valley 66-53 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or does Thompson Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
