The East Moline United Panthers will challenge the Geneseo Maple Leafs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Moline United comes in on four and Geneseo on three.
East Moline United had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 22-run drubbing they dealt Galesburg on Tuesday. The Panthers never let the Silver Streaks get on the board and left with a 22-0 win. That 22 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Reagan Kearns made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Chloe Ledford was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Mea Johnson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
East Moline United always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Geneseo). Everything went their way against Alleman on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-7 victory.
The team relied heavily on Madisyn Buysse, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Kennedy, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4.
East Moline United's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Geneseo, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
East Moline United beat Geneseo 6-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Maple Leafs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
