The Gates County Red Barons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Weldon. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Gates County couldn't answer the 6 points Weldon scored afterwards.
Gates County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Weldon, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.
Gates County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Weldon is on the road again on Friday and play against Wilson Prep at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Wilson Prep will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
