The Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] Cougars lost against the Christ School Greenies back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christ School.
When it comes to explaining why Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Green. Despite the final result, he threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns.
Kaden Brown was on fire for Christ School: he rushed for 228 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry.
Christ School's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Cash Freeman and Jordan Edgecomb who racked up six sacks between them.
Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy]'s defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Christ School, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.
Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] will take on Rabun Gap-Nacoochee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Christ School, they will head out on the road to face off against Metrolina Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Metrolina Christian Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
