The North Side Gators are on the road again on Friday and play against the Calhoun City Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Side had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-14 win over Hatley on the road.
Meanwhile, Calhoun City put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Eupora 58-6 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Calhoun City just coasted through the last quarter.
Jamajah Mayes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 224 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Mayes was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards. Xavian Pittman also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
North Side has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Calhoun City, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
North Side skirted past Calhoun City 22-20 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Side since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
