Ruberg Came Up Big in La Quinta's 42-28 Victory
Starting off the list is La Quinta's James Madden Ruberg, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Ruberg rushed for 276 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
The win (which was La Quinta's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Ruberg and La Quinta will square off against Shadow Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Rancho Mirage had to settle for second on Friday, but Jeremiah Williams sure wasn't going down easily. Williams was dynamite, rushing for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also picking up 42 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
La Quinta's probably not too fond of Williams given he always seems to get the better of them. Williams rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns the last time he and the Blackhawks duked it out back in October of 2023.

A Season-Best Effort from Jackson Bishop Leads Palm Desert over Shadow Hills
Palm Desert was led to victory by Jackson Bishop, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Bishop wasn't messing around, picking up five sacks and making seven total tackles (7.0 for loss). The game was his 18th straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.
Bishop is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Palm Springs on Friday. Bishop picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss) the last time he and the Indians duked it out back in October of 2023.
