Watkins Mill is 1-9 against Magruder since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Watkins Mill scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They snuck past Rockville with a 73-67 win.
Meanwhile, Magruder had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They strolled past Richard Montgomery with points to spare, taking the game 70-54.
Aiden Dabbondanza and Sekou Bangoura were among the main playmakers for Magruder as the former dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds and the latter scored 27 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gerald Suarez, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Watkins Mill's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Magruder, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Watkins Mill came up short against Magruder in their previous meeting back in January, falling 60-48. Can Watkins Mill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
