After flying high against the Swansea Tigers on Wednesday, the Barnwell Warhorses came back down to earth. Barnwell lost to Williston-Elko on the road by a decisive 57-43 margin on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Barnwell in their matchups with Williston-Elko: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Barnwell saw an underclassman step up: Vashahd Scofield scored 14 points. The matchup was Scofield's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Henri Creech, who scored eight points.
Barnwell bumped their record down to 3-3 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Williston-Elko, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barnwell will take on Williston-Elko at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Williston-Elko and Ridge Spring-Monetta will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ridge Spring-Monetta is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
